England fans reacted on Twitter to Arsenal teenager, Bukayo Saka, being carried by Aston Villa and Wolves duo, Tyrone Mings and Conor Coady, after the Three Lions win last night.
Gareth Southgate’s side booked their place in a major tournament final for the first time since 1966 – with Arsenal’s star boy playing a part in the equalising goal.
Extra time was needed for England to record a 2-1 win against Denmark in front of 60,000 supporters.
And after the game, Villa and Wolves’ towering centre-backs decided to carry Saka, who produced a tireless and positive display during his 69 minutes on the pitch.
At just 19-years-old, Saka is proving to the world why he is so highly valued by those at Arsenal.
Given that he started the semi-final clash, he might just also be selected from the get-go for England’s final meeting with Italy.
Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane have been constant performers and starters in the front three during this tournament, with Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Sterling all filling in.
But Saka has been the one to start more games after Sterling and Kane (3) and there’s no reason why that shouldn’t be the case on Sunday.
England fans were delighted to see the love both Mings and Coady were showing to Saka and how he is the ‘baby’ of the group.
Saka wasn’t even alive when Southgate missed that penalty against Germany in 1996, but he, along with his teammates, have the chance to end all those decades of hurt.
