West Ham United have undergone a brilliant transformation over the past few weeks.
West Ham ace Robert Snodgrass spoke reporters after his side’s impressive 2-0 win away at Fulham on Saturday, and highlighted how their woeful start to the season was the best thing that could have happened to them, as quoted by Football.London.
The Hammers made a horrendous start to their campaign, losing their first four games, but they have recovered brilliantly, winning their last four games in a row, and they now sit in ninth position in the Premier League table, just two points adrift of sixth placed Manchester United.
Snodgrass, 31, has played a key role for his side this season, and has been in excellent form, chalking up four goals and seven assists in 19 appearances in all competitions.
The Scotland international spoke to Football.London after Saturday’s win over Fulham, and pinpointed a surprise factor behind his side’s recent success:
“The start of the season was the best thing that happened to us because it let everybody know that this one of the toughest leagues in the world and we need to be at it as a team to get the best results for this great club so, it’s football. There are ups and downs but we are just delighted to be on this run right now and try and build on it.”
Snodgrass will be hoping to continue his excellent form, and help his side push on up the table over the Christmas period.
And with a winnable run of fixtures, Manuel Pellegrini will be confident that his side can make a sustained push for the Europa League spots this season.
