Tottenham Hotspur suffered late heartbreak on Sunday afternoon, drawing 2-2 away at Newcastle United having been leading inside the final 10 minutes.

Joelinton’s opener put Newcastle in front, only for a quickfire Harry Kane brace to give Spurs the lead, and it looked like they would hang on for all three points.

However, Joe Willock swooped late on to give Newcastle a point, firing home from close range as Spurs once again dropped points from a winning position in the final stages of the game.

Of all players Spurs fans won’t wanted to score, it would surely have been Willock, given that he is currently on loan at Newcastle from bitter North London rivals Arsenal.

Willock has moved away from the Emirates Stadium for first-team action, but admitted after the final whistle that this goal was particularly sweet given his allegiances to Arsenal.

The midfielder has come up through the Arsenal ranks, so scoring a late goal against Tottenham was likely a dream – even if he maybe didn’t expect it to come in a Newcastle shirt.

Arsenal fans have been taking to Twitter to react to Willock’s goal, praising him for doing the Gunners a favour whilst calling him ‘agent Willock’.

Others called loaning Willock to Newcastle ‘the best thing Mikel Arteta has done’ because his goal may now stop Spurs from getting into the top four, branding the move a ‘masterclass’.
