Even Manchester United fans have praised Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold for his display last night.
Liverpool ran out 4-2 winners at Old Trafford, with Alexander-Arnold a constant threat all night.
His delivery for Liverpool’s second goal on the evening was particularly exceptional, as he set up Roberto Firmino to score.
But he was a real outlet for Liverpool throughout, and Luke Shaw actually struggled to deal with him.
Shaw has had a fine season with United, but after being put on the back foot, he failed to find a way to stop Alexander-Arnold putting his typically dangerous crosses into the box.
And United fans praised the Liverpool right-back on social media afterwards.
The comments are sure to make good reading for Alexander-Arnold, who has come under a fair bit of criticism this season.
Alexander-Arnold lost his place in the England squad over the last international break, but his performance last night – in front of Gareth Southgate – must increase his chances of being selected in the Three Lions’ Euro 2020 squad.
