Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus leaves Clinton Morrison in awe vs Leicester
Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus left Clinton Morrison in awe with his start to the game at home to Leicester City. The former Crystal Palace forward waxed lyrical over the Brazilian’s display while speaking on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday (13/08, 15:22) as Jesus broke the deadlock.

Leicester fell behind in the 23rd-minute at the Emirates Stadium as Jesus found the net on his home debut. Arsenal bought the forward from Manchester City over the off-season for £45m, as Mikel Arteta filled Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s voids.

Jesus enjoyed a lively competitive debut as Arsenal beat Crystal Palace to raise the curtain for the new season. But the 25-year-old failed to find the back of the net at Selhurst Park, despite his tricky footwork and endless effort to drive forward running the Eagles ragged.
Leicester would be Jesus’ first victim as an Arsenal star, though, as he broke the deadlock on Saturday afternoon. The 56-cap Brazil international provided a lovely finish in front of his new supporters, having driven forward from the wing before picking out the far corner.
He fashioned a creative finish to beat Danny Ward in the Foxes net, and later doubled his tally. Jesus put Arsenal two goals to the good 10 minutes from half-time against Leicester, with the £265k-a-week attacker nodding home his second from close-range after a corner.

Gabriel Jesus the star of the show as Gunners enjoy sprightly start
Morrison was in no doubt that Jesus was the outright star of the show as Arsenal enjoyed a sprightly start at home to Leicester on Saturday. The player-turned-pundit waxed lyrical over what the four-time Premier League winner produced to give Arteta’s squad their 2-0 lead.
“It’s that man, Jesus,” Morrison said. “First of all, he gets the ball on the left-hand side, goes past Jonny Evans. Intricate play between him and [Granit] Xhaka, ball eventually comes to him and he’s in the corner, and he just guides it into the far corner.
“Fantastic finish: side-foot, right into the top-corner. Brilliant. He’s been the best player on the pitch, outstanding.”
Displays like Jesus’ during the first-half against Leicester will go a long way to showing why Arteta convinced Arsenal to spend so much on the forward to lead his attack this summer.
