Speaking on BT Sport’s coverage of Burnley vs Leeds (15/5/2021 2:30PM), Peter Crouch has been waxing-lyrical about Jack Harrison.
Harrison scored United’s second goal against the Clarets as the Whites romped to a 4-0 win, and Crouch was mightily impressed by what he saw.
With the Euros just around the corner, the conversation inevitably turned to whether or not Harrison should be involved in the England squad this summer, and Crouch thinks that he should at least be in the conversation.
“I don’t see why not. I’ve watched Leeds a fair bit this season and every time I watch him he has an impact. He was the best player on the pitch for me today and every time he got the ball he was running up and he does his defensive work very well, so I think he has to be in with a shout,” Crouch said.
The presenter then asked Crouch if he agreed with Glenn Hoddle’s view that Harrison is good enough to play for a top four side, to which he replied:
“I wouldn’t disagree with that every time I watch Leeds he’s an integral part of what they do, he’s fantastic on the counter-attack and he has a great combination down that side with Alioski as well, but yeah, he’s been a fantastic player this season for Leeds.”

Crouch is absolutely right about Harrison.
The winger has been as good as any English left-sided player this season, and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be considered for the Euros.
In fact, we’ve been banging that drum for quite some time, and we can only hope that Gareth Southgate is watching closely.
