Some Newcastle fans on social media have been lambasting the decision to sell Kevin Mbabu after his starring role against France at Euro 2020.
The right-back came off the bench to make a massive impact for Switzerland, assisting their second goal and shutting down any impact Kylian Mbappe was looking to have late in the game.
Mbabu put in a great performance for the Swiss, and it’s not the first time he’s done that at this tournament.
As you can imagine, Newcastle fans had plenty to say after watching their former player strutting his stuff at the Euros, and it’s fair to say that they weren’t happy.
Indeed, fans were fuming about the fact they sold Mbabu for a relatively low fee after failing to give him a real chance, and one man they weren’t happy with was Rafa Benitez.
Benitez is often lauded by the Toon Army as a genius, but even the most hardened Rafa fan would have to admit he made a mistake with Mbabu, and they made their thoughts on the matter quite clear on social media.
