West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Athletic revealed that Vladimir Coufal had signed a new three-year contract.
What’s the story?
Well, the £5.4m man has committed his future to West Ham, penning a deal which ties him to the east Londoners until 2024.
West Ham also have the option to extend his contract by a further year.
Coufal has been phenomenal since arriving from Slavia Prague, and thoroughly deserves his new deal.
The £30,769-a-week man has made 43 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers, providing eight assists.
Coufal’s efforts helped West Ham qualify for the Europa League in his debut season at the London Stadium.
Now, the 29-year-old is a key man for David Moyes, and also one of the first names on the teamsheet – he is among the best right-backs in the Premier League.
Who must West Ham target next after Vladimir Coufal?

Make no mistake about it, this is fantastic news for the Irons, although it shouldn’t be the end of their contract drive.
Aside from Mark Noble – who has already announced he’ll be leaving – Angelo Ogbonna, Ryan Fredericks, Ben Johnson and Andriy Yarmolenko all find themselves out of contract in 2022 (Transfermarkt).
All four are valued first-team players, so it will be interesting to see if Moyes decides to let anyone go.

In our view, Yarmolenko’s future could be in doubt.
The 31-year-old earns £115,000-a-week, and simply doesn’t do enough to justify that sum.
For now, let’s see what the West Ham fans on Twitter have been saying about Coufal’s new contract…
