West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club announced the signing of Craig Dawson on a two-year contract.

The 30-year-old will complete a permanent move to the London Stadium once the current campaign ends, and will be tied to the Irons until 2023.

Dawson has been a revelation since joining on loan from Watford.

As West Ham’s announcement states, the Hammers have won nine of the 15 Premier League games in which Dawson has started.

In those outings, West Ham have also kept six clean sheets, while the former West Brom defender has popped up with some vital goals as well.

The Rochdale-born centre-back has netted goals in wins over Crystal Palace and Leeds, while he also scored in a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.

Dawson also scored the winning goal in West Ham’s FA Cup win over Stockport.

Thanks to his and Angelo Ogbonna’s efforts at the back, David Moyes could actually see his side secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.

West Ham’s No.15 has been so good that he has become a genuine contender for Gareth Southgate’s EURO 2021 squad, according to The Athletic.
