Braga striker Paulinho has admitted that he is keen on a move to the Premier League, after links with Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, while speaking to Record.
While the Portuguese national team has never been short of world-class wingers, reliable centre-forwards are a little harder to find.
With a bit of luck, however, Paulinho could change all that. The late-blooming striker has scored twice in his first three caps after hitting the net 25 times during a career-best 2019/20 season for Braga.
A big-money move to England would do Paulinho’s hopes of securing Portugal’s number nine shirt no harm at all either.
Aston Villa were linked over the summer while, according to O Jogo, Tottenham showed an interest before being put off by the £27 million release clause in Paulinho’s contract.
“All the players like (English football). We are talking about the best league in the world, the most competitive league in the world,” the penalty box poacher admitted.

As you might expect, Wolverhampton Wanderers were not far away from the discussion when Paulinho started to appear in the gossip columns during the off-season.
But, according to the former Gil Vicente ace, reports linking him with a move to Molineux were rather overblown.
“Nothing came from Wolverhampton,” Paulinho added.
