Reach went some way to silencing his critics during Sheffield Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Sunderland.
As a Newcastle United fan, Adam Reach was always going to be up for Sheffield Wednesday’s fixture against Sunderland.
It’s fair to say the Owls’ former record signing has so far failed to validate his £5 million price tag, as he flitted between positions during his first campaign at Hillsborough.

And after two-and-a-half games on the wing, Reach again found himself relocated to left-back during Saturday’s 1-1 draw against QPR, remaining there as Sunderland visited Hillsborough on Wednesday.
And in the second half of that game especially, the 24-year-old put forward a solid case to become a permanent fixture in the role, as he bombed up and down the left flank, took on opponents and put in several good crosses.
But don’t take it from us – here’s what the Wednesday faithful have had to say about Reach’s performance:
David Jones’ long-range strike secured a point for Carlos Carvalhal’s side against Sunderland, who led through George Honeyman’s early effort but found their goal under siege for much of the second half.
