Feyenoord general manager Dennis te Kloese has said that Santiago Gimenez should not join Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.
Mexican outlet Jovenes Futbolistas MX reported earlier this week that Tottenham are planning to make a bid of €40 million (£34.54 million) for the 22-year-old Mexico international striker.
The report claimed that Tottenham have identified the youngster as a potential replacement for Harry Kane.
Bayern Munich are determined to sign Kane, and if the England international striker left for the Bundesliga champions, then Tottenham would put in a bid for Gimenez.
Jovenes Futbolistas MX added that Feyenoord want as much as €50 million (£43.30 million) for the former Cruz Azul striker.

Feyenoord general manager Dennis te Kloese believes that the striker should stay and not leave for Tottenham.
Te Kloese has noted that Feyenoord won the 2022–23 Eredivisie title and will play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
1908.nl quotes Te Kloese as saying, as translated by SportWitness, when asked if Gimenez will play for Feyenoord next season: “Yes.
“We have a long-term contract with him. I also honestly think, and I have known him for a long time, that it is best for him, from me, to gain experience here and play in the Champions League.
“In an ideal situation, Gimenez is just a Feyenoord player. We must not lose sight of reality. Our players have positioned themselves fantastically in the past year.
“But we are working on something very special in the sporting field. With the Johan Cruijff Scale, playing for prizes and the Champions League. Players realise that they can also take steps here.”
Santiago Gimenez should join Tottenham Hotspur
In our opinion, if Santiago Gimenez gets the chance to leave Feyenoord for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, then he should take it.
Not many players get the opportinity to play in the Premier League, especially for a club as big as Tottenham.
If Gimenez has been identified as a potential replacement for Kane, then Spurs must really rate him highly.
After all, Kane is a world-class striker and a Tottenham legend, and finding a suitable replacement for the England international is not easy.
Gimenez simply should not miss out on the chance to lead the line for a club like Tottenham, if indeed he gets it.
The youngster joined Feyenoord in the summer of 2022.
The 22-year-old made 21 starts and 11 substitute appearances in the Eredivisie for Feyenoord last season.
The striker scored 15 goals and gave two assists in those games.
Gimenez made four starts and five substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League last season, scoring five goals in the process.
