Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik is a target for ‘the best clubs in the Premier League’ amid reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, his agent told AS, via Tuttosport.

We are a third of the way through the January window and it seems that, despite incessant speculation, Milik is no closer to leaving the Stadio San Paolo.

Having rejected the chance to extend a contract which expires in July 2021, the Poland international has been omitted from Gennaro Gattuso’s first-team plans throughout the season.

Milik has not kicked a ball in anger over the last five months and his agent, Fabrizio de Vecchi, is understandably growing frustrated by the slow pace of negotiations.

After all, it’s not as if there is a shortage of interest.

“The best clubs in the Premier League, Atletico (Madrid) and Marseille are interested in Arek,” said De Vecchi, who believes that a £14 million price-tag has the striker’s suitors running for the hills.

Of course, no team offers what Napoli asks for. The negotiation with Atletico for Milik was interrupted because Napoli did not accept the offer.

“The Azzurri are asking for much more money than Atletico can spend at the moment.”

West Ham are on the lookout for a Sebastien Haller replacement but a £6 million bid for Milik has been slapped down by Napoli (Rai).

Tottenham and Everton are also keen, according to TMW.

But Daniel Levy and Farhad Moshiri may prefer to wait until the summer, when Milik is available for absolutely nothing.

The former Ajax star, who worked with Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti in Naples, scored 20 goals in 2018/19 and a further 14 last season.
