Newcastle United have been previously linked with a move for the Liverpool hitman.
According to Turkish media outlet Aspor, Besiktas are preparing a £10 million bid for Liverpool hitman Daniel Sturridge, and that might just tempt Newcastle into making their own move for the striker.
Sturridge joined the Reds from Chelsea in January 2013, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £12 million, and he has gone on to score 64 goals in 133 appearances in all competitions.
The 28-year-old was offered to Newcastle earlier this summer, according to the Chronicle, but Rafa Benitez rejected the opportunity to sign the Englishman, with his £15 million price-tag thought to be too hefty.

With Liverpool now reportedly ready to accept a reduced fee for the striker, though, the Magpies might just be tempted to go back in for him, with Besiktas reportedly lining up an offer.
Despite Sturridge’s obvious problems with injuries in recent years, he is still a top class striker, and if he can remain fit for a sustained period of time, he could be an excellent addition to the Toon’s squad.
In today’s market, £10 million really is just a drop in the ocean, and it might just be worth Newcastle taking a punt on the 26-capped England international.
It could turn out to be a real coup for the Tyneside outfit.
