Besiktas president provides update on Cenk Tosun to Everton

Everton look set to sign Cenk Tosun from Besiktas in the January transfer window.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman has been quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.com that an agreement has been reached with Everton over the transfer of Cenk Tosun.

The Mirror recently reported that Everton officials held face-to-face meeting with Besiktas president Fikret Orman in London on Wednesday.

It was reported by the British publication that the Toffees were confident of securing the services of the 26-year-old Turkey international forward.

Besiktas president Orman has now stated that the two clubs have reached an agreement over the transfer fee, and that Tosun will complete his move to Everton by this weekend.

Orman has also revealed that Tosun himself wants to join Everton in the January transfer window.

The Turkey international forward has scored eight goals and provided one assist in 12 league starts for Besiktas so far this season, according to WhoScored.

In six Champions League appearances this season, the 26-year-old scored four goals and provided two assists, according to WhoScored.

“Our interests and the player’s interests are important,” Turkish-Football quotes Orman as saying. “Cenk wants to join Everton. We want to do our part.

“We are working on a replacement. The era of buy, buy, buy is over. This is the era of buy add value and sell.

“A final deal has not been reached yet but we have an agreement over the price. The end is near. The transfer will be wrapped up by the weekend.”
