The wage difference between Besiktas’ Oguzhan Ozyakup and Jack Wilshere of Arsenal is quite stark for Everton should they look to sign them.

A new central midfielder appears to be a priority for Everton this summer with Besiktas’ midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup on their radar, according to Turkish-Football.

The Toffees have sent scouts to watch Ozyakup in action and are keen on signing the midfielder if they do not land Jack Wilshere from Arsenal.

To complicate matters further the Gunners, whom the Turkey international left five years ago, are also considering re-signing the 25-year-old.

Arsene Wenger of Arsenal looks on prior to the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 Second Leg match between Arsenal and AC Milan at Emirates Stadium on March 15, 2018 in London, England.

Financial decision

Both Ozyakup and Wilshere are out of contract at their respective clubs at the end of this season, but their wage demands are stark in difference.

The latter currently earns around £120,000-a-week at the Emirates Stadium and as the Sun outlines, the reason the 26-year-old won’t sign a new deal is because Arsenal are only prepared to offer him £90,000-a-week.

Ozyakup, meanwhile, is in his own contract standoff with Besiktas but that is because the Istanbul outfit won’t meet his demands of around £50,000-a-week – claims Turkish outlet Fanatik.

Obviously if the Merseysiders view Wilshere as a much better option then they are better off paying the money, but to be wanting more than double another target is quite some contrast.
