One of the areas where a decision has to be made is at left-back, where Danny Rose and Ryan Bertrand are competing for a place.
The Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton full backs have both enjoyed impressive campaigns, and either would be worthy of a first team place.
So how did the two players compare in the stats this season? We decided to take a look.

And as it transpires, Danny Rose came out on top in six of the eight areas that we looked at.
Per game he won more tackles, more defensive duels and registered slightly more effective blocked crosses than Bertrand.
He also came out on top when it came to ball recoveries per game, although the Southampton star won more interceptions per game.

Going forward Rose was superior though, registering more key passes per game and more accurate crosses per game.
Bertrand however, did come out in one offensive area as he registered more accurate passes per game than his rival.
