Bernie Slaven has compared Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic to Tony Pulis’s Middlesbrough on Twitter.
Slaven made the comparison while following Cetic’s match against Valencia at Celtic Park on Thursday evening.
The Glasgow giants took on Spanish side Valencia at home in the first leg of the Europa League round of 32 tie.
The Hoops lost the match 2-0, and Rodgers’s side now look likely to get knocked out of the European competition.
Former Republic of Ireland international Slaven played for Middlesbrough in the 1980s and the 1990s, and the 58-year-old has made an unflattering comparison between Celtic and Boro on Twitter.
Ambition
Both Celtic and Middlesbrough are ambitious clubs, and are aiming to achieve great things at the end of the season.
While the Hoops are planning to win the domestic treble for the second season in a row and will also hope to progress further in in the Europa League, Pulis’s Boro are challenging for automatic promotion to the Premier League for the 2019-20 campaign.
