Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno is being linked away from the club – and yet he’s excited about a potential incoming.

Leno has produced a few errors this season, failing to really kick on after Arsenal chose to sell Emiliano Martinez last summer.

The Telegraph now claim that Arsenal want £15million for Leno, with The Athletic suggesting that he wants to leave this summer.

The 29-year-old has been speaking to Sport1 in Germany, and has been tackling a rumour about a potential incoming at the Emirates.

Bild claimed in April that Arsenal want to sign Julian Brandt, and Borussia Dortmund are willing to sell for just £17.5million.

It doesn’t seem likely that Martin Odegaard will be back at Arsenal next season, so a new playmaker will be needed in Mikel Arteta’s side.

Brandt and Leno have played together for Germany and Bayer Leverkusen, and the Arsenal goalkeeper seems excited about the potential of a reunion.

Leno admitted that he sent Brandt messages when the Arsenal rumours emerged, and highlighted that the pair are great friends from Leverkusen.

Maybe signing Brandt would tempt Leno into staying at Arsenal, with the duo clearly very close friends on and off the pitch.

“I read the rumours with Arsenal and wrote him a few messages right away,” said Leno. “But I don’t know what is really there. In any case, I would be happy if he came. Jule is a good friend, we had a very good time in Leverkusen and privately we were often out for a beer or two. Maybe we can experience that again in the future. He’s also invited to my wedding, which unfortunately couldn’t take place this year. We will make up for that next year,” he added.
