Everton attacking midfielder Bernard has told the Liverpool Echo that he likes the Toffees’ fans chant about him.

Bernard has become a popular figure during his first season with Everton, where he has gone from strength to strength.

The Toffees forward is now regularly serenaded by the Goodison Park crowd.

And Bernard says that he loves hearing his name chanted by Everton’s supporters.

“I like it, especially during the game. It is a great feeling to hear it then,” he said.

Everton brought in Bernard on a free transfer, making him one of the biggest bargains of the summer.

The skilful Brazilian has forced his way into Marco Silva’s side’s starting line-up and become a major threat.

Bernard helped Everton into eighth place over the past campaign, and there is a hope that he could become even better next term.

In total the £120,000-a-week playmaker (Spotrac) claimed four assists and scored one goal for Everton in all competitions over the past season.
