Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has proven himself to be one of the league’s best in such a short period of time.

Speaking on BBC 1’s broadcast of Spurs’ FA Cup tie with Fulham at 13:54 on Sunday February 19th, former Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov raved about the influence that Harry Kane has on the current Spurs side, labelling him ‘Mr Spurs’.

The 23-year-old has been in sensational form for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, despite spending nearly two months on the sidelines through injury, and has scored 19 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions for this club so far this season.

The England international is now widely considered to be one of the Premier League’s best strikers, and the next step for him will be to prove himself on the biggest stage, both on a national level with the Three Lions and in the Champions League with Spurs.

And Berbatov, who scored 46 goals during a two year spell with Tottenham, shared his belief that Kane is now his former club’s talisman, explaining to BBC 1 how he has the ability to develop into one of the best English strikers of all-time:

“I think he is now Mr Spurs. He is the talisman, he is the guy who is up front, and with Dele Alli and Eriksen, he completes the triangle. They obviously train a lot with each other, and you can see the way they link with each other is natural. He is becoming a top class goalscorer. If he wants to become one of the best, he is in the right place. The coach is very good with him, and he is going to develop to be one of the best English strikers.”

Spurs are currently sitting in third position in the Premier League table, and Kane has been a major driving force behind their success so far this term.

And if they are to close the gap on league leaders Chelsea, the 23-year-old will have to continue his fine run of form, and arguably even improve upon his already impressive goals to games ratio.
