Everton have been linked with Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke, Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony and Olivier Giroud of Arsenal.
Everton are being strongly linked with a move for a new striker this summer following the departure of topscorer Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.
Three names appear to be the most likely to fill the void left by Lukaku, but which would actually be the best signing for the Toffees?
Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke
Christian Benteke
A fellow Belgium international and another strong, physical presence used to playing upfront along, the Evening Standard says Benteke is on the wish list.
However, new Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer is determined to keep the 26-year-old – which would make him expensive if any deal could be negotiated – plus Chelsea are also believed to be in the hunt.
Wilfried Bony
Having fallen down the pecking order at Manchester City and sent on loan to Stoke City last season, it is little surprise Bony is expected to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.
The Express says the Merseysiders are interested and talkSPORT claim a bid of £17.5m would be enough to sign the 28-year-old, although his lack of form over the past few years could be a cause for doubt.
Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud

One of the first names that came up following Lukaku’s departure, Giroud has been linked with an exit from Arsenal after the arrival of fellow striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The France international will be 31 in September, though, but of the three is the only one who has succeeded at one f the Premier League’s genuine European clubs and may well welcome the chance to be a regular starter at Goodison Park.
