Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has called for the club to embrace a difficult pre-season schedule.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentaleb explained in an exclusive interview with Spurs TV that all of the club’s young talent share a desire to learn and prosper at White Hart Lane.

Bentaleb has just signed a new contract with the North London club and is positive about the club’s pre-season before an important first Premier League game of the season away at Manchester United.

“We have a tough pre-season, we’re playing against some really big teams and it’s a good challenge and a good experience for us. We have a young team and we all want to learn. We have to show the fans something – It’s time for them to get rewarded,” he told Spurs TV.

Pre-season is vital

Pre-season is very important for Tottenham for a variety of reasons, especially with the young players who excelled in the first team last season.

The Algerian, along with the likes of Ryan Mason and Harry Kane, is no longer a surprise factor in terms of Tottenham’s team and the side is going to have to deal with extra scrutiny from opposition sides in relation to their best players.

A solid pre-season with some good performances will ensure that Tottenham’s key men are fit and in good form, giving the club the best possible chance of getting off to a good start.

Pochettino must challenge the younger players

It’s important that manager Mauricio Pochettino challenges his younger players to learn from last season and to work on their weaknesses.

He will be working close with a number of players as he looks for Spurs to become a stronger side and that means each man looking at what he can do differently compared to last season, with an ability to learn under the manager’s guidance.
