Metz defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto congratulates Tottenham Hotspur on winning against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Benoit Assou-Ekotto has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Tottenham Hotspur’s win against Real Madrid at home.
Tottenham won 3-1 against defending European champions Madrid at the Wembley Stadium in London in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were the better team and deservedly picked up all three points from the encounter.

The win means that Spurs have booked their place in the last-16 stage of the Champions League this season.
Assou-Ekotto was on the books of Tottenham from 2006 until 2015, and the 33-year-old left-back – now at Metz in Ligue 1 in France – has taken to Twitter to congratulate the North London outfit on their victory.

Tottenham were superb against Madrid, and their performance and the final result show that they are ready to take on any team in Europe.
True, Zinedine Zidane’s side were missing a few key players due to injury and their form at the moment is not great, but it was still a remarkable achievement from Spurs to defeat the defending European champions.
