If Tottenham had the opportunity to sign any right-back in world football, Benjamin Pavard might be near the top of the list right now.
Right-back has emerged as a potential problem position for Tottenham, with Kieran Trippier sold, and his replacement Kyle Walker-Peters still yet to win everybody over.
His recent injury showed just how light Spurs are on quality, if not numbers, with Davinson Sanchez looking clumsy as a replacement.

Spurs have been drawn against Pavard’s Bayern side in the Champions League, and his quality at right-back could expose Tottenham’s own deficiency in the position.
Tottenham had the chance to land Pavard, Football London reported in 2018.
They chose not to, and it was perhaps understandable after Kieran Trippier’s superb World Cup.
With hindsight, Spurs should have cashed in on Trippier when his value was skyrocketing and bought Pavard.
He joined Bayern in January for £31.4 million and has looked outstanding since his arrival. He scored at the weekend in Bayern’s 6-1 win over Mainz.
Tottenham have plenty of time to address their right-back issues before the Bayern match-ups, but if they can’t, Pavard will stick out as a missed opportunity.
