Newcastle United’s performance levels have dropped recently.
During an interview with BBC Radio Newcastle, Magpies boss Rafa Benitez explained how there is nothing that needs rectifying at the club, and shared how he has urged his players to continue doing what they have been doing throughout the first half of the campaign.
The Tyneside outfit have suffered a worrying dip in form over this past month or so, having won four and lost four of their last eight league outings, and they now sit two points behind league leaders Brighton & Hove Albion, having played a game more than the Seagulls.

But Benitez explained how this is no time to panic, during an exclusive interview with BBC Radio Newcastle, and insisted that nothing needs to change at St James’ Park:
“I don’t think we need to rectify anything, we need to try and do the same things. We will encourage the players to play with the same confidence, intensity, ability and same spirit.”

Newcastle now face a vitally important run of fixtures that lead up to their crucial clash with Brighton at the Amex Stadium on January 28th.
An away trip to Brentford is followed by a home game against Rotherham United, and maximum points from those outings will surely be a must if the Magpies have any chance of overhauling the Seagulls at the top of the table.
