Napoli boss Rafa Benitez is reportedly determined to bring in at least one of Liverpool duo Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger.
Napoli are very active in the January transfer window and coach Rafa Benitez is said to be still looking for new recruits.
The Partenopei have already signed Verona star Jorginho, are in talks with Tottenham over midfielder Étienne Capoue and are close to agreeing a deal with Catania for goalkeeper Mariano Andujar.
But Benitez doesn’t appear to be satisfied and is still looking for a defensive recruit to stabilise what has been a leaky defence at times this season.
However, the paper also acknowledges that both targets may be difficult as Liverpool are unlikely to let either man leave easily.
It seems very unlikely that Napoli will steal Skrtel away as he is still very much part of Brendan Rodgers’ first team plans.
Agger appears to be a more realistic target as the Danish defender is facing at least a month on the sidelines with a calf injury.
There were reports last month that Agger had agreed a loan switch to Napoli, but those seem have been incorrect.
The 29-year-old has publicly ruled out a switch recently and insisted that he hasn’t been giving any thought to leaving Liverpool, but Il Mattino believes that Benitez hasn’t given up on him.
