Everton boss Rafael Benitez is open to selling goalkeeper Jordan Pickford amid claims Tottenham Hotspur want to sign him.

That’s according to a report from The Sun, who claim that Benitez needs to sell in order to buy new signings in 2022.

That means Everton may need to offload a key player and Pickford currently looks like the favourite to leave Goodison Park.

Pickford earns around £100,000-a-week and Tottenham are willing to match those wages.

The fee involved seems odd though. The report claims Everton would want around £30million, which is what they paid for Pickford in 2017.

Everton would surely be in a position to demand a profit on Pickford, who has been branded ‘amazing’ by Hugo Lloris.

Lloris is out of contract at the end of the season and Tottenham may need to find his replacement very soon.

The Telegraph claim that Antonio Conte wants Pickford because he fancies an English goalkeeper between the sticks.

With Benitez willing to let Pickford leave and Everton needing to raise funds, Tottenham could have a legitimate chance of signing England’s number one.
