Newcastle United have struggled in front of their own fans over recent weeks.
Speaking to reporters during his pre-match press conference, Magpies boss Rafa Benitez drew attention to his side’s poor home form, and hinted that they may have to start adopting the tactics they use on the road when playing St James’ Park in the future, as quoted by the Chronicle.
The Spaniard’s side play host to Nottingham Forest in the Championship tomorrow, and will be looking to get back to winning ways, after falling behind Brighton & Hove Albion in the title race.

Newcastle have been incredibly inconsistent over this past month, with three wins and three losses coming in their last six outings.
Two of those defeats came at St James’ Park, and Benitez told reporters how his side’s home form is certainly a matter of concern, as quoted by the Chronicle:
“I am really pleased with the away form. When the team is doing so well away you are pleased. If we were doing as well at home we’d be 10 points clear. Teams come here and defend then play counter attack. We need to understand how to approach these games. If you can’t win, you shouldn’t give them any hope of a draw.”

The Tyneside outfit face a run of four games in the league before their huge clash with Brighton at the Amex Stadium on January 28th, and Benitez will be looking for his side to pick up 12 points from those games, to set them up perfectly for what could prove to be a title decider against the Seagulls.
