Napoli boss Rafa Benitez has taken advantage of having a few days off to fly back to Liverpool and visit his family.
Rafa Benitez still has very close links to Liverpool and he has taken the opportunity to return to the area where his family still live.
The Spaniard led Liverpool between 2004 and 2010, winning the Champions League in 2005 in one of the most memorable games in the club’s history.
Although Benitez has moved on, his family still live in the Wirral and he splits his time between Naples and his English home.
“Not many people know this, but I am the only Coach who lives within the training ground,” he explained.
“I go to see my family for a few days when I can. I’d like to bring them here, but it’s not easy when the kids are studying.”
Club owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has jetted to Los Angeles, where he has a home, to relax a little before the rigours of the Serie A season return.
It has been a stressful start to the season for Napoli who were eliminated from the Champions League by Athletic Bilbao and are off the title pace after losing to Udinese and Chievo.
However, Benitez appears to have put things back on track with consecutive wins against Sassuolo and Torino.
