The Newcastle United boss has signed six players this summer.

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has told the Shields Gazette that he is hopeful of signing more players this summer, but admits the “crazy” transfer market makes it difficult.
The Spaniard has already signed six players this summer and has an extra £25 million to play around it following Georginio Wijnaldum’s switch to Liverpool last week.

The Magpies’ Championship season gets underway in just 11 days, but the former Real Madrid coach remains optimistic that there will be more arrivals before the window closes.
Asked by the Gazette if he will bring in more man power, Benitez said to the Gazette: “Hopefully. We are working and trying to improve the squad.
“It’s not easy now. The market is quite crazy, no? Crazy prizes everywhere. We try to do our best.”

Newcastle have signed upwards of £34 million on bringing in Matz Sels, Dwight Gayle, Matt Ritchie, Jesus Gamez, Isaac Hayden and Grant Hanley.
But United will need goals and only Gayle – a £10 million signing from Crystal Palace – is likely to find the net regularly from their new arrivals.
Wijnaldum netted 11 Premier League goals last term and another prolific midfielder should be on the agenda for Benitez.
