Benik Afobe opened his account for Wolverhampton Wanderers against Leeds on Wednesday night.

Wolves striker Benik Afobe spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and shared the first message that his teammates gave him when he returned to Molineux on loan in January.
The 25-year-old has made six appearances for the Black Country outfit since his January switch – all coming from the bench, and he scored his first goal for his new club on Wednesday night during their 3-0 win away at Leeds United.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side currently sit at the top of the Championship table, six points clear of second placed Cardiff City, and a further four in front of third placed Aston Villa.
Having someone like Afobe around will surely give Wolves the boost they need to get over the line this season.
The 25-year-old spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and shared what the Wolves players told him when he rejoined the club in January:

“When I came back the first thing they told me was ‘this is a team and everything we do here is team shape, team belief, everything about the team’. I think I’ve been getting better as the weeks have gone on in training and showed I’m not far away from being a part of something big in this team.”
Next up for Wolves is their huge clash with Aston Villa in the Championship tomorrow, and Afobe will be hoping for his first start since making his switch to Molineux in January, after having impressed against Leeds on Wednesday night.
