Benik Afobe is on loan with Wolverhampton Wanderers until the end of the season.
On loan Wolves ace Benik Afobe spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and hinted that he wants to remain at Molineux for the long-term by stating that it is his dream to play for the club in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old joined the Black Country outfit from Bournemouth on loan in January, and has impressed upon his return to the club, scoring four goals in nine outings thus far, with only two of those being starts.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are currently sitting comfortably at the top of the Championship table, six points clear of second placed Cardiff City, although they have played a game more than Neil Warnock’s men.
Perhaps more importantly, though, they sit 13 points clear of third placed Fulham, and promotion back to the Premier League seems to be a mere formality.
Afobe spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and shared how it is his dream to play in the top flight with Wolves:
“I’ve said this is home to me. I’ll have to sit down with my family but my dream has always been to play for Wolves in the Premier League so if that’s to go by anything then hopefully that can happen.”
Next up for Wolves is a trip to Middlesbrough on March 30th, before they play host to Hull City four days later.
A return of six points form those games could very well secure their place in the top flight for next season, and judging by his comments, there will be nobody happier with that outcome than Benik Afobe.
