Benik Afobe has told the Express and Star that everyone told him about how many chances Wolverhampton Wanderers create, prior to his move to Molineux.

Wolves have been the Championship’s stand out team so far this season, with their attacking play tearing teams apart on occasion.

And Afobe is excited to lead the line at Wolves again, as he feels he can thrive on the brilliant service.

“I’ve come back here and everyone’s telling me how much they create and how many opportunities you can get by being in and around the right places,” Afobe said.

“That’s a dream for a forward – you don’t want to have to do things alone. You want to be going through one v one. That’s when I’m at my best – good movement, strong, powerful and clinical finishing. That’s what I want to get back to doing.”

Afobe was hugely impressive during his first spell with Wolves, which lasted for the whole of 2015.

Afobe netted 23 goals in 48 appearances for Wolves, with the striker becoming a real fans’ favourite at Molineux.

Afobe ended up moving on to join Bournemouth, but his Premier League switch did not work out as planned.

The 24-year-old will be hoping to be playing top tier football again next season though, as Wolves are in such a commanding position to earn promotion.

Nuno’s side are currently 11 points clear at the top of the Championship standings, and with Afobe leading the line they should only be even more dangerous over the remainder of the campaign.
