New Nottingham Forest signing Nicklas Bendtner is ready to make his debut in Wednesday’s trip to Rotherham United, manager Philippe Montanier has confirmed via the club’s official Twitter feed.

Bendtner, the former Arsenal, Juventus and Wolfsburg striker, arrived at the City Ground on a free transfer last week.

However, with his last appearance coming in February, the 28-year-old was understandably left out of the squad which drew 2-2 at Aston Villa on Sunday.

According to Montanier, Bendtner is now ready should he decide to call upon the Dane’s services at the New York Stadium.

“Nicklas Bendtner is ready to help the team at Rotherham tomorrow,” the Frenchman told the club’s official Twitter feed.

Forest find themselves short on numbers ahead of their short trip up the M1, with neither Chris Cohen nor David Vaughan going to be risked, according to Montanier.

The 51-year-old had already confirmed that both Matty Cash and Thomas Lam will also miss the Millers clash.

And Cash, who has made an encouraging start to life in the Forest first team, later posted on the social media site that he will miss the next two to three months with a fractured bone in his knee.

However, he added that the injury will not require surgery, enabling a quicker recovery time.
