Ben Woodburn is an outstanding young talent and although many fans were tipping him for regular first-team action this season, it is easy to forget that he is just 18.

With Jurgen Klopp boasting of one of the best attacking units in the Premier League, the youngster has found first-team football difficult to come by.

He has been restricted to just one league cup appearance in in 2017/18, and chances of him getting further senior action this season is almost nil.

Woodburn would benefit greatly from a short-term move away from Anfield, and playing in the Championship would help him a lot.

According to recent reports from the Daily Mail, Sunderland and Leeds United are interested in his signature.

The move to Sunderland could be an interesting one as Woodburn would be reunited with his former national team manager Chis Coleman. It is expected that he will get more game time.

However, he should join Leeds United instead if they present an offer.

It is not just about getting games that should matter to Woodburn and Liverpool.

The club should send him at a club where he will play alongside some very good players and in a competitive environment which will help him mature as a player.

With Leeds expected to challenge for promotion, it will present an ideal opportunity for Woodburn to experience the competition, rather than be at a club that are fighting to avoid relegation.

With Sunderland really struggling in the league, the pressure that comes with a relegation battle could have a negative impact on Woodburn’s progress.
