Ben White has named Gabriel Martinelli as Arsenal’s most skillful footballer.
White joined the Gunners in a £50 million deal this past summer.
These are the most talented bunch of players that the former Leeds loanee has ever played with.
Martinelli, a £6 million signing during Unai Emery’s reign two years ago, is one of Europe’s most exciting young starlets.
And White, speaking to a Q & A on Arsenal’s Twitch channel, has revealed that the 20-year-old has a bag of tricks in his locker.
He said: “I would probably go Gabriel. He’s silky!”
Frustration
It has been another frustrating season so far for the South American wonderkid.
This is a player who Jurgen Klopp labelled a ‘talent of the century’ two years ago but he has struggled since Mikel Arteta has taken the reins at Arsenal, it has to be said.
Over the past 12 months, Martinelli has only managed nine Premier League starts under the Spanish manager which, for someone of his talent, is very low.
In total, we’re only talking about 738 minutes of league football, which equates to eight full 90-minute matches in a year.
Skillfull or not, Arteta clearly isn’t sold on other aspects of the youngster’s game and the onus is on him to improve from here on out.
