HITC Sport understands that free agent Ben Watson is undergoing a medical at Nottingham Forest.

Former Watford midfielder Ben Watson is undergoing a medical at Nottingham Forest ahead of making a move to the City Ground, HITC Sport understands.
Watson came close to joining Forest on loan on transfer deadline day, but just ran out of time to conclude the deal.

However, Watson has now cancelled his contract with Watford by mutual consent to allow himself to make the move to Forest as a free agent.
Watson struggled to hold down a regular place in the Watford side this season, making just eight starts and three substitute appearances for the Hornets.

The 32-year-old joined Watford in January 2015 and helped the club win promotion to the Premier League in his first season at Vicarage Road.
Watson boasts a wealth of experience having made over 400 first-team appearances during spells with Crystal Palace, Wigan Athletic, Queens Park Rangers, West Bromwich Albion and Watford, and he also scored the winning goal in the 2013 FA Cup final against Manchester City.
Forest were one of the busiest clubs in the country on deadline day, and Watson is now in line to become Aitor Karanka’s eighth signing since taking over at the City Ground.
