Leeds’ reserve side suffered a 2-0 loss to Barnsley on Monday afternoon.

Ben Parker has told LUTV’s coverage of Leeds United’s 2-0 loss to Barnsley on Monday afternoon that Robbie Gotts could be the next Leeds youngster in the first team, labelling him as “dynamic”.
The 18-year-old saw out the entire 90 minutes as Amir Berkovits and Roman Palmer found the back of the net either side of the half-time whistle – the second coming after a horrendous mistake by Aapo Halme.
Gotts started at right-back as Leeds failed to build on their excellent 6-3 win away at Burnley last week, which saw them rise to the top of the Professional Development League.
Former Leeds defender Parker was impressed with Gotts despite the loss to Barnsley, expecting him to become another youngster promoted by Marcelo Bielsa.
“Yeah, I could see him in the first team. He’s just everything you want in a defender. It is all very good going forward and joining the attack, but you’ve got remain solid. He’s dynamic,” Parker said.
Leeds had a number of first-team stars in the side, with Will Huffer, Halme, Jack Harrison, Tyler Roberts and Patrick Bamford all getting game time in what was the Under-23’s last game of 2018.
The likes of Callum Nicell, Clarke Odour, Leif Davis, Jordan Stevens and Alfie McCalmont also played, but it was Gotts that stood out to Parker who has since taken a role on with LUTV after retiring from football.
Gotts will need to continue to impress as he did do on Monday, as his contract expires at the end of the 2018-19 season.
