Leeds United visit in-form Brighton at The Amex on Saturday.
Former Leeds United left-back Ben Parker has told TV Yorkshire that he fancies his old club to prolong their purple patch by edging out in-form Brighton on Friday.
Leeds ride the crest of a wave into this week’s clash at The Amex after Garry Monk’s side beat Aston Villa 2-0 on Saturday to move fourth in the Championship.
It was their second successive league victory and fifth in six games – a 2-0 reverse by top-of-the-table Newcastle being the only blemish – and excitement regarding the Whites’ chances of reaching the Premier League seems to be growing every week.

The Seagulls are perhaps the only other side in the Championship playing as well as United at the moment, with Brighton protecting a 13-match unbeaten run – nine of which were victories – come Friday night.
But the hosts will have the added pressure of knowing that a victory would sea them leap above Newcastle at the summit, and Parker, who was on Leeds’ books for seven years until 2012, says Monk and co can capitalise on their underdog

He told TV Yorkshire: “There’s no pressure on us. All the pressure is on Brighton because they win and they’ll go top of the league.
“Turn up like we did at Anfield, no pressure on us, and play like that. If we can hit them on counter-attacks then I can see us getting a positive result. I’m going to go 2-1 for the mighty Leeds. I fancy it.”
Under Steve Evans, Leeds were 4-0 down at half time during a horrible night at The Amex last season, but they certainly seem a different animal under Monk and it would be a major shock if they are beaten comprehensively.
