West Ham United defender Ben Johnson has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The talented young right-back has been rewarded for the impressive performances that he has produced for West Ham at U23 level this season, as reported by the club’s official website.

Johnson, who turned 18 yesterday, has been a dependable performer for West Ham U23s and was named on the bench for the Premier League game against Manchester City in December.

Having trained with the first-team on several occasions since the appointment of David Moyes as manager, Johnson will hope that he will be able to make his senior debut before the conclusion of the campaign.

West Ham have some talented youngsters on their books, and Johnson is certainly amongst them.
