Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have been linked with Ben Heneghan of Motherwell.
Ben Heneghan has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he has not heard from Glasgow Rangers yet, despite their reported interest.
Heneghan is believed to be a target of Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha, with the Portuguese manager keen to bring the Motherwell defender to Ibrox.
And although Heneghan left the door open for a move to Rangers, he suggested that he was perfectly happy to return to Motherwell next season.
“As far as I know, I’m a Motherwell player. We’ll see what happens over the summer,” he said, when asked about Rangers’ reported interest.
“But I’ll be back in here pre-season, as far as I know. It’s nice to have the recognition but it’s not coming from me.
“There hasn’t been any contact with me. I just keep my head focused. If something happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, I’m happy here.
“They’re huge clubs, known world wide. But, until I know any different, I’m here at Motherwell. I’ve got another year on my deal at Motherwell. I’ve had a chat. But, until I hear anything concrete, I’m still here.”
Rangers are believed to have identified Heneghan as one of a number of additions they wish to make this summer.
Caixinha is targeting a large volume of new players, as part of his shake-up at Ibrox.
Rangers have been left behind by Celtic this term, and Caixinha has promised to close the gap next time around.
Heneghan has made 37 starts for Rangers this season in the Scottish Premiership, and has helped them avoid relegation.
