Baggies stopper Ben Foster explained how merely surviving the drop will be considered as an achievement for West Brom this season, highlighting Aston Villa and Newcastle’s recent plight as evidence of just how hard the Premier League is, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.
The Black Country outfit finished in a respectable 10th position in the table last season, but a poor start to this campaign led to Tony Pulis losing his job at the Hawthorns, and they currently sit precariously in 17th spot in the table, just three points clear of the drop zone.
The Baggies faithful became frustrated with the tedious, dull brand of football that they were subjected to under Pulis, but an outsider looking in might warn them to be careful what they wish for.

Foster, 34, spoke to reporters about just how challenging the Premier League is, claiming that merely surviving in the division will be seen as an accomplishment, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail:
“Away from the top six, I can promise you, just staying in the league is an achievement. You look at the size of some of the clubs that have been relegated in the last few years, the likes of Villa, Sunderland, even Newcastle, it just shows how tough it is to just stay up.”
Next up for Alan Pardew’s men is a huge game away at Swansea City on Saturday, and with matches against Liverpool and Manchester United on the horizon, it will be absolutely vital for them to pick up all three points at the Liberty Stadium.
