West Bromwich Albion were denied a share of the points following a late winning goal for Arsenal.

Ben Foster has insisted that the West Bromwich Albion squad are still buzzing despite their somewhat sickening defeat to Arsenal on Boxing Day, the Birmingham Mail reports.

The Baggies fought bravely at the Emirates but came away from their clash with the Gunners pointless after Olivier Giroud scored with just four minutes of normal time still to go.

But despite the nature of the defeat, as well as the fact that it came after their 2-0 loss to Manchester United, Foster has suggested that the mood amongst the squad is incredibly positive.

“They’re absolutely buzzing still, to be honest with you,” he said, as reported by the Mail.

“Without a doubt, the lads are cracking.

“Obviously we’ve taken a bit of a hit losing with three or four minutes to go but it’s a tough game.

“You’re under no illusions when you come to the Emirates it’s going to be a tough game, and if you get anything from the game it’s going to be hard-earned point.”

In fairness to Tony Pulis’ men, they would have known that taking three points from their previous four games was always a real possibility as they also faced league leaders Chelsea at the start of the run before a home game against Swansea.

But on the positive side, they still remain in the top half of the Premier League table going into what appears to be a much more promising run of fixtures.

And with the January transfer window just around the corner, the Baggies will be hoping that their current positivity can be capitalised upon with the acquisitions of some players who can improve the squad further.
