West Bromwich Albion have enjoyed an extremely promising season in the Premier League.

Ben Foster has suggested that Matt Phillips has not only been a joy to watch since he joined West Brom, but he has also been a catalyst for changing perceptions regarding the Baggies this season, the Birmingham Mail reports.
Phillips’ acquisition last summer arguably has to go down as one of the best pieces of business any Premier League club did this term, with West Brom spending just £5.5 million on the Scotland international (via Sky Sports).
With four goals and eight assists under his belt in the top flight, he has certainly been a fantastic addition. And Foster has suggested that his signing has been a key reason why people are looking at Tony Pulis’ side differently now.
“This season particularly we’ve moved away from the lump-ball, get up and get behind it,” he said, as reported by the Mail.

“The bit of flair we’ve added to the team, Matty Phillips for me has been absolutely amazing.
“He’s a joy to come and watch.
“When he came back into the team against Watford he just lifted the place, he’s been absolutely fantastic.”

Phillips’ form will certainly be extremely encouraging to West Brom fans as his arrival has proved that teams do not need to break the bank to find players who can make a tremendous impact in the top flight, with only five players across the entire division contributing more assists.
And if Pulis can repeat the trick with a number of similar signings during the summer – which will, of course, be considerably easier than done – then West Brom will surely have no problem being able to challenge for a top eight position in the top flight once again next year.
