Ben Foster gives his verdict on Alan Pardew’s impending appointment at West Bromwich Albion

West Bromwich Albion are set to allow Alan Pardew to take over from Tony Pulis at the Hawthorns.

Ben Foster has told the Daily Star that he has heard positive things about Alan Pardew, who is set to become West Bromwich Albion’s next manager.

Pardew is set to take over at West Brom in the near future, to replace Tony Pulis.

Gary Megson will remain in temporary charge for the Baggies next match, which comes against Newcastle United in midweek.

But Pardew could be in place at the Hawthorns to take charge of Albion for the first time at the weekend, when a match with Crystal Palace awaits.

And Foster has heard positive things about Pardew’s style of football.

“Everybody is saying Alan Pardew will be the next manager,” the goalkeeper said.

“It’s not something we’re involved in. But I know people who have met him and say he plays a nice style of football.”

West Brom fans will welcome a more entertaining style of football being brought to the Hawthorns, with Pulis regularly criticised for being too defensive.

Pulis operated with a very direct style, and the lack of entertainment on offer was a frustration for some Baggies fans.

Pardew will take over a West Brom side who are out of form, and currently sit in 17th place in the Premier League table.
