Ben Foster has urged Darwin Nunez to improve his game, as he continues to miss chance after chance for Liverpool, while comparing him to Man City superstar Erling Haaland.
While Haaland is on a ridiculous 21 Premier League goals, Nunez has scored a mere 5 in the English top-flight.
Against Brentford once again, the ex-Benfica talisman failed to find the back of the net.
The same goes for the much-maligned hitman’s shocking showing against Leicester recently, despite the Reds getting the all-important 3 points.
However, this has been a running theme throughout the £140,000-a-week striker’s career at Liverpool so far.
Despite some feeling that things would take a turn for the better after the Uruguayan’s return from the World Cup, the polar opposite seems to have happened.
As Liverpool suffered a 3-2 defeat in the Carabao Cup last-16 to Manchester City, Darwin Nunez missed a boatload of gilt-edged chances.
In the same game, Erling Haaland converted a difficult chance to hand his side the lead.
Against Aston Villa as well, the 22-year-old found a way to miss the target on a host of occasions.
Now, against Leicester City, Nunez once again seemed to not have brought his shooting boots to Anfield.
Unsurprisingly, the former Benfica goalscorer is earning his fair share of critics.
Ben Foster says Darwin Nunez needs to start scoring, makes Erling Haaland comparison

Ben Foster has said Darwin Nunez must start scoring goals, as his debut season at Liverpool continues to disappoint, while comparing his failures to the in-form Erling Haaland.
“He [Darwin Nunez] needs to start scoring goals.”
“Remember in the beginning of the season by the way? A lot of money, Erling Haaland signs. A lot of money, [Darwin Nunez signs].”
“The two were compared, ‘Neck-and-neck, it’s going to be so close’, isn’t it?”
“Mate, Haaland has blown it out the water, right? He’s got to do more for me, Darwin Nunez.”
“He does, he has to score goals! And that game [against Leicester], Haaland is scoring 2 or 3 goals there”, Foster said on his YouTube channel.
Ultimately, Ben Foster is spot on, as the Darwin Nunez-Erling Haaland debates have aged extremely poorly, with the Liverpool striker not even looking in the same stratosphere as the Man City marksman.
