Ben Foster has claimed that reported Arsenal target, Raheem Sterling, will ‘strike fear’ into teams at Euro 2020, as he told his own YouTube channel.

The Watford goalkeeper thinks Sterling should start for England today as they take on Croatia in their Euro 2020 opener.

Sterling, who is seemingly a wanted man by Arsenal, has endured a difficult campaign in Manchester City colours this season.

But Foster has the light-footed speedster in his starting XI, as the Three Lions prepare for their Wembley showdown.

“Wow, has there been some debate as to who will play here (on the right-wing),” said Foster. “But I am going to have to go for Raheem Sterling.

“I think the pace this guy has. We need pace in our team. We got a lot of pace in it anyway. But another winger, a right-winger, whose got pace like Raheem Sterling will surely strike fear.

“Not only into Croatia’s heart. But absolutely every other team we come up against.”

The Daily Mail have claimed that Sterling’s indifferent form in recent times has pushed Mikel Arteta to try and bring him to North London.

Arteta coached the £49 million rated Englishman (BBC Sport) at the Etihad and now he wants to make the bold move of trying to make him swap a team that just won the Premier League title to one that’s not even in Europe.

How much lure and power will Arsenal have as a club now to attract talent? And will those sitting in the boardroom put the money on the table to change the fortunes around of this once great and now declining club?

Signing Sterling would be some start, but there’s no way he will swap winning trophies at Man City to joining an Arsenal team that’s hardly showing any ambition off it.
