Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of new full-backs in recent times.

While we are still more than two months from the next transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks, with a new left-back seemingly high on the agenda.
Recently HITC reported that Tottenham were keen on signing Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon, while the Sun is now claiming that Spurs are looking at Lazio’s Jordan Lukaku as a potential replacement for Ben Davies, with doubts within White Hart Lane that the Welsh international is of the sufficient standard to ultimately make the grade.

With Danny Rose the undisputed first-choice left-back at Tottenham, it will be interesting to see how things play out, especially with Spurs linked with a surprising move for Jonas Hector back in the summer (Bild).
With three of their most recent targets all featuring in the same position, Davies’ future could well be away from Tottenham, but how soon could be determined by which player Spurs ultimately secure.
At just 16, Sessegnon is very much one for the future and a loan back to Fulham is the most likely option if Spurs are successful in January or next summer.

Hector is a different prospect, with the German international unlikely to accept a place on the bench at this stage of his career.
While at 22, Lukaku is on the verge of breaking into the big time and would most likely be happy to bide his time at White Hart Lane provided chances came sooner rather than later.
As a result, it seems that if Tottenham’s interest in a new left-back is real, the only real chance Davies has of staying beyond the summer is if Sessegnon ultimately swaps Craven Cottage for White Hart Lane.
