Ben Davies has spoken about some of his Tottenham teammates in an interview with Football London, which contains some interesting quotes.

Intriguingly, the Wales international revealed that Davinson Sanchez is one of the ‘big characters’ at Tottenham under Jose Mourinho.

The former Swansea defender said: “One of the strongest people I’ve ever met. He’s quick, strong and such a good guy. He’s so funny and his English has got so much better since he’s arrived and he’s one of the big characters in the team.”

For a man with just six Premier League starts this season out of a possible 18, it is interesting to hear that Sanchez is a big character among the squad.

The Colombia international is currently experiencing the most difficult period of his Tottenham career since arriving from Ajax in 2017.

Mourinho appears to have lost a little bit of faith in him.

The ex-Chelsea boss started Sanchez frequently at the start of the season.

However, after he netted an own goal in the 3-3 draw against West Ham, the Colombian was axed from the next four Premier League matchday squads as Transfermarkt shows.

Unlike Dele Alli, the Caloto-born defender hasn’t been completely frozen out, as he managed to start the recent 1-1 draw against Fulham.

However, he was dropped for the win over Sheffield United, so he still has work to do.

Despite this turbulence, it’s good to hear Davies reveal that Sanchez is a character around Hotspur Way, and he sounds like a player in good spirits.
